All Saints – All Souls: Remembering Loved ones
There is no opportunity to come together to remember loved ones this year, but the online service this week on Facebook and Youtube provides space for families or individuals to remember a loved one. Do share the link with those you think might benefit and ask them, if they would like to have a candle ready to light, or lit already so they feel they have been able to join in. When families cannot gather together they could all watch the service at the same time if they so wished.
Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Tide
There will be a service at St Anne’s on Remembrance Sunday starting at 10.45am with an Act of Remembrance and the 2 minute silence at 11.00am We hope this will be shared live on Facebook for those who cannot come, and as you know space is limited.
There will also be a Team Remembrance Service online, and we are planning a Turton Remembers Service with the Barlow and others in the area which will go out just before 11.00am on Wed 11th
Request for pans, pots, bowls, kitchenware, etc
Do you have any kitchen utensils, pots, pans, beaters, bowls, kettles, iron etc which you could donate to refugee families setting up their homes (pans and pots in particular)?
Thank you to those who have already given – the need continues for others. Please let Peter know and / or you can drop things off safely at the Vicarage – there is a large “parcel-box” in the front yard.
Christingle
We hope to have a Christingle Service at St James’ on Dec 6th at 4.30 pm. Please do collect for the Children’s Society who need all the help we can give. As we will prepare to celebrate Christmas we can support children who have so little. More details to follow
